Smartpipe Solutions was building a revolutionary new platform-as-a-service (PaaS) to help telcos to monetise data safely and securely. Newt provided UX support, iteratively designing an interface, which made the data deceptively simple to use.
Newt’s design made the data accessible and understandable, not just for users, but also for telcos to help them understand the value that was created.
The product is the first of its kind, there’s nothing else like it anywhere. This meant we needed to conceptualise it from scratch and put our UX expertise to the test. We rose to the challenge; drawing from our many years of experience to find innovative, customer-focused solutions for every complexity.
This included managing and simplifying the many layers of functionality and multiple onscreen data attributes. We were also designing for three different user types, each with their own specific requirements.
We worked iteratively, starting with a rapid discovery phase. We then spent four weeks sketching out plans, scoping the product, uncovering requirements and designing solutions to meet users needs and usability best practice.
We worked closely with product and technology stakeholders to specify a front-end interface that was both appealing to users and achievable by development teams. Weekly sprints helped to evolve the design and ensure we were on track. Low and high fidelity prototypes were tested with users and their feedback was incorporated into the end product.
